UK and Russia re-open negotiations to ease tourist visa bureaucracy
Russia and Great Britain resume negotiations regarding the possible change of visa requirements for the citizens of both countries. This information was presented by Karen Malayan, Head of Economics Department, Embassy of the Russian Federation in London. At the reception celebrating the beginning of World Travel Market in London Malayan announced the two countries reached an agreement for reopening a series of negotiations around easing visa restrictions.

Moscow is waiting the outcome of the London extradition hearing on fugitive businessman Yevgeny Chichvarkin. London's Westminster Magistrates' Court postponed a hearing into Russia's extradition request on August 2 until September 13. A Court spokesperson told RIA Novosti the decision had been made on July 21, but declined to comment further.

Ilya Golubovich, son of multi-millionaires, wanted his divorce pronounced in Moscow whereas his former wife, Elena, wanted a London decree. Both used delaying tactics at the courts in the two countries, racking up legal costs of up to £2.25 million.
