For over 150 years, the Beau-Rivage Palace has been Switzerland’s finest hotel and claims the top slot in the world’s palace resorts. The hotel is located on the shores of the magnificent Lake Geneva and facing the idyllic Alps. Extraordinary views provide each guest with breathtaking surroundings.

The hotel offers just 169 unique suites and rooms (some, like the Art Deco Suite, famous in their own right). The comfortable size contributes to the personalization of the incomparable Beau-Rivage Palace service. A recent addition in 2005 is the CINQ MONDES SPA which is unique in Switzerland and was built at a cost of 12 million Swiss Francs (approx. €8 million) to provide a new standard of ‘wellness’ in the country.

This hotel is a true centre of haute cuisine. LA ROTONDE restaurant is crowned with a Michelin star for the delicacy of its langoustines, the zest of its eggs a la truffe, and the boundless creativity of Chef David Sauvignet, the holder of the prestigious Taittinger trophy. The elegant brasserie CAFE BEAU-RIVAGE and L’ACCADEMIA, the Italian restaurant at the Hotel Angleterre & Residence - the sister hotel located next door, also give credit to the dining excellence. From the careful selection of exquisite whiskies and cigars at the ENGLISH BAR to the BaR’s popular terrace - every appetite is catered for.

The cuisine is outstanding and the wine list matches its standards. The Beau-Rivage Palace’s legendary wine cellar houses some of the world’s most remarkable wine, numbering in the region of 600 cru and 75,000 bottles.

The hotel’s immaculate leather bound guest books contains the names of such social luminaries as: Coco Chanel, Mary Pickford, Gary Cooper and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Noel Coward and Somerset Maugham not only stayed in the hotel but featured it in their writing and Emperor Hirohito, Nelson Mandela, Poincare, the President of Argentina and Britain's Lord Curzon are amongst the pantheon of world leaders who have stayed at the hotel. This list could be extended until today, but the hotel’s tradition includes discretion about living celebrities.

At the beginning of the 21st century the Beau-Rivage Palace was the site for concerts and banquets as well as for international conferences, meetings and corporate conventions whose participants appreciate the efficiency of the high tech equipments in these beautiful surroundings.

The hotel has 12 banquet and fully equipped conference rooms accommodate up to 600 persons.

The Beau-Rivage Palace is now a private company with the Sandoz Family Foundation as the main shareholder. A major renovation of the hotel commenced at the beginning of the 1990’s with the goal of preserving the hotel’s authentic character and guarantees the excellence upon which the establishment’s impeccable international reputation was based. As one of Switzerland’s most important historical landmarks, the first stage of renovation was made in close collaboration with the Swiss Service of Historical Monuments. The complexity of the project called for countless specialized craftsmen and artisans to restore the cupola of the grand salon, the extraordinary murals and paintings and the ceiling of the Salle Sandoz, the frescos, stained glass windows and other historical items. The second phase of renovation involved 100 million Swiss Francs investment.

The Beau-Rivage Palace remains at the forefront of The Leading Hotels of the World and boasts numerous industry awards.
