Ukraine International doubles daily flights from London to Kiev
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) will double flights from London to Ukraine’s capital – historic Kiev to twice a day starting from 18 June 2013. The airline is also offering BSR Russia readers who are passengers originating in the UK, a travel discount on selected flights by sending publication source reference (the URL of this article) to the e-mail address at the end of this article.
Russian Parliamentarian declares Grozny “safe”
Robert Shlegel, 29-year old United Russia Deputy and First Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee of Information Policy, IT and Telecommunications told a meeting of young, politically oriented British activists this week “Grozny was as safe as any city in Russia, or indeed Europe.”

The inquest into the death of former KGB spy Aleksandr Litvinenko is on the verge of falling apart after a judge ruled he couldn't hear evidence connected with the alleged involvement of the Russian state to the killing on grounds of "national security".

Putin takes Cameron on helicopter tour of sports facilities
Vladimir Putin and David Cameron viewed Olympic facilities in Sochi from a helicopter, including those in the mountain cluster and the Imereti Valley, and visited the Fisht Central Olympic Stadium, which was designed and is being built with participation by British companies.
Cameron-Putin talks Transcripts
Vladimir Putin held talks with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron. These transcripts were provided by the Russian Presidential Press Office. Mr Putin and Mr Cameron discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and the international agenda, including the situation in Syria. The talks continued over a working breakfast, following which the two leaders made press statements.

At a joint press conference in the balmy Sochi sun, with palm trees in the background, President Vladimir Putin of Russia and Prime Minister David Cameron of the UK said their two hours of talks had concentrated on ways of solving the Syria conflict but also covered UK-Russian trade and investment and security for the Sochi Winter Olympics next year. Mr Cameron said their talks were aimed at ensuring “people in both countries are left safer and better off.”
Russia's Victory Day atmosphere recreated in London
A large crowd of 300 people gathered at the Soviet War Memorial in Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park on Thursday morning 9th May for the annual Victory Day act of remembrance recreating an atmosphere of Victory Day in Russia in London. A record number of wreaths were laid at the Memorial during a commemoration of the Soviet and British soldiers who served in the Second World War and a reception of a buffet and alcoholic beverages were provided by the CIS nations.
Putin Offers UK PM Cameron Olympic Tour
BOCHAROV RUCHEI, SOCHI, May 10 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered visiting British Prime Minister David Cameron a tour of the Olympic venues being readied in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Vladimir Putin attended the 68th anniversary Victory parade on Red Square
Over 11,000 military personnel, teachers and students of military schools marched across Red Square on May 9th. Aksai Cossack Cadet Corps took part in the parade for the first time; students of the Moscow Suvorov Military School and Nakhimov Naval School have re-joined the marchers’ after a three-year absence.
