Ryanair launches London (Luton) Tallinn service

Irish-based low cost carrier Ryanair will launch services to Tallinn Estonia from London's Luton Airport and Edinburgh on Monday 10th January. This brings to seven the routes Ryanair serves from Tallinn. The airline launched routes connecting Tallinn with Dublin, Dusseldorf, Milan, Oslo and Stockholm in December.

Fares advertised on Ryanair.com web site are GBP 20.99 each way. Fares are subject to GBP 5 booking fee, GBP 4 priority boarding fee and GBP 15 for 15kgs of checked baggage. A carry on bag up to 10kg is allowed free.

The total GBP 44.99 compares favourably with other airlines charges from GBP 79 one way and offers a low cost route to Russia for budget conscious travellers who can catch trains from Tallinn to Moscow or buses to St Petersburg.

Ryanair is predicting 700,000 passengers a year on its Talinn routes and says it has recruited 700 staff to work at Tallinn Airport.

The airline flew 72.5 mn passengers last year.

Estonia is a member of the European Union and EU citizens do not require visas to visit the charming prt city with its mediaeval old town. Travellers heading for Russia will require Russian visas which must be obtained from their home country or country where they have documented residence.

Estonia joined the Eurozone on 1st of January and fares quoted on the Internet for the sole train operator Tallinn-Moscow are 168 Euros one way.
