Sergey P. Lesukhin was born in 1959 in Krasnotur'insk, the Sverdlovsk Region. In 1981 he graduated from the Kuibyshev Polytechnical Institute majoring in "Machinery and equipment for chemical works".

Since 2008 up to now Sergey Lesukhin has been heading the Machinery and Equipment for Chemical Works Chair of the Petroleum Technology School at the Samara State Technical University. Earlier he administered an institute of Rosneft Company, Samaraneftekhimproekt.

Sergey Lesukhin holds the Doctor of Engineering academic degree, he is a professor. He has authored 60 scientific articles and 7 inventions.
