London Telegraph to launch Russia Now:the Cultural Alternative in December

This week Russia Now, the monthly supplement prepared by the Rossiskaya Gazeta and  distributed with the Daily Telegraph in the UK celebrated five years of publishing with a reception at the Telegraph Media Group in their Buckingham Palace Road offices. The guest of honour was the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UK, Mr Alexander Yakovenko who was introduced by the head of the Russian publishing team at Russia Beyond the Headlines (RBTH), Eugene Abov, VP of Rossiskaya Gazeta.

Toby Moore, International Advertising Director of the Telegraph of the Telegraph announced the launch in December 2012 of Russia Now: the Cultural Alternative, a 36-page colour magazine focussing on Fashion, Shopping and Travel. The magazine would be distributed with the Saturday Telegraph on 8th December.

Looking ahead Mr Moore said there would be two issues of the magazine in 2013 and  a special Sochi issue in February 2014.

Olga Ivanova, the head of New Media projects for RBTH, said that an app for iPad 2.0 would be released in September this year and demonstrated a mock-up of a special Olympic edition.

In his presentation Eugene Abov stressed that while the project launched its first edition in the UK it was rapidly followed by the USA with the supplement distributed with the Washington Post and now includes partnerships with 18 leading newspapers around the world.
