Russia will build a new port near Belomorsk by the White Sea to boost Arctic shipping capacity. The port will be ready by 2014 and have a capacity of 9 million tons of cargo, according to the Voice of Russia. Belomorsk is located on the main railroad from Moscow and St. Petersburg towards Murmansk.
