Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov was elected President of the Russian Olympic Committee. The president of the Russian Olympic Committee was elected at a committee’s meeting in Moscow on Thursday.

Alexander Zhukov was the only candidate for president of the Russian Olympic Committee. He replaced Leonid Tyagachev, who filed resignation after the unsuccessful performance of the Russian national team at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
