Russia implements new business trip rules for specialists

On December 4th, 2010, the Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation No 564 came into force. The order defines, among other things, new business trip rules for foreign citizens who are highly qualified specialists.

 

In particular, the Order states that a highly qualified specialist is allowed to engage in labour activities outside of the region(s) of the Russian Federation he has the permit to work in, for up to 30 calendar days if he/she is sent on a business trip, annually, during the period of work permit validity.

 

If his/her job is connected with frequent traveling, which is stipulated in the labour contract, this highly qualified specialist can work outside of the region(s) of the Russian Federation he has the permit to work in, with no time limits.
