The Russian State Duma has passed amendments that significantly alter registration procedures for foreigners in Russia. Starting March 31, registration must be completed within seven working days after entering the country. If the trip is shorter than seven working days, registration should not be required at all, if that current policy remains in force. The amendments also legislate the practice of registering employees at their place of employment. This is a significant step forward for business in Russia; one which we hope will be followed by many more.
