Sukhoi succeeds at Farnborough

The Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 has exceeded expectations with sales in the first three days of the Farnborough International Airshow, near London. While Monday’s US$ 951 million contract with Indonesian domestic carrier Kartika Airlines had been widely expected, but never-the-less was hailed as a breakthrough order for 30 aircraft and other orders have followed. Kartika will receive the aircraft between 2012 to 2015.

Sukhoi inks deal for 30 Superjets with Indonesian airline

Sukhoi announced Monday winning an order for 30 of its Superjet-100 planes from the Indonesian carrier Kartika Airlines worth $951 million. The Superjet-100 is the first newly-developed passenger plane inRussia since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The first Superjet 100's are expected to be delivered to launch customer Aeroflot later this year.

Sukhoi Superjet to fly at Farnborough

The bi-annual Farnborough Airshow opens today in England and Russia's Sukho company expects to ink a deal for 30 Superjet 100s with a South-East Asian airline within the week.

The Russian Sukho Civil Aviation Company (SCAC) and its 25% partner in the Russian Regional Jet (RRJ) programe the Italian Finmeccanica Group will both be present at Farnborough.

Sukhoi says Super Jet on schedule

Sukhoi Co. said production of the SuperJet, Russia’s first major commercial airplane project since the collapse of the Soviet Union, is on schedule, denying a newspaper report of delays.

“We haven’t changed the timeframe for SuperJet deliveries,” said Olga Kayukova, a spokeswoman for Moscow-based Sukhoi, told Bloomberg by phone today. “The first one will be delivered by the end of the year.”
