The Bryansk Region has received RUR1.4bn ($44.4mn, or €35mn) of federal funds for farm projects, said the press office of the regional authorities. Under the region’s agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, signed in January 2012, federal support for the region is to reach RUR2bn ($61.5mn, or €48.5mn) this year. Out of the RUR1.4bn the region has received, RUR413mn will be used to pay farms’ loan interest, RUR10.9mn to develop meat and poultry farming, RUR11.6mn for plant growing, and RUR165.1mn for lease payments and compensation for farm equipmentsubsidies.
